Newquay Coastal Cleanup  believes strongly in responsible enjoyment of the marine environment whilst minimising our impacts on it. With this in mind, we plan to install monofilament Line bins have been successfully used in other regions such as at Chesil Beach in Dorset. We are hopeful that the idea will spread and line bins will become a common sight at popular fishing locations all around Cornwall and the rest of the UK.line bins at popular fishing sites in the Newquay area.

"Newquay Marine Group are a group of local volunteers based in Newquay, Cornwall, whose aims are to protect our local coastline and its inhabitants.

But what do you actually do….?

NMG participate in many activities from beach cleans, rockpool rambles, snorkelling trips and much, much more! We work with local organisations such as Cornwall Wildlife Trust, and through their Seaquest South West project, hold a monthly Seaquest where we meet to search for cetaceans (whales, dolphins, porpoises).

We also work closely with the local community to make Newquay enjoyable for the public and our wonderful marine life.

This summer, NMG are pleased to launch our new Beach Rangers project, where local students will be stationed on beautiful Towan Beach to educate locals and tourists alike on just what we can find on a tour of our coastline.

How can I get involved…?
